Video Image Module

1.Overview

The Video Image Module is a procedural texture module which enables a texture to be based on video content. For example, a TV playing in a room, moving scenery outside a window, etc.

The video content may be either an existing video file or a sequence of images.

**Note: The plugin relies on the Java Media Framework (JMF) which not only has a (very) limited set of decoders, but also may not have decoders for all formats it can encode.

2. Setting Up

Create or edit a procedural 2D or 3D texture and insert a Video Image module by selecting "Insert | Plugin | Video Image".

Double-click on the Video Image module then click on the thumbnail frame in the parameters dialog. Select the video file, or the first file in the video sequence and click OK.
**Note: If the first frame of the video is not displayed in the thumbnail, then the video file has not been recognised. This is usually because the format is not recognised, but may also be because JMF is either not installed on your machine, or not visible to AOI.

If you are using a sequence of image files, you must set the frame-rate value, so the module can calculate the correct image in the sequence for a specific time in the animation.

4. Tips and Tricks

The module defaults its input values to those of the current render frame. You can change these by connecting different values to the inputs.
